The full text of their petition to Senator Ranker (D-Orcas) follows:

The Coalition for Health Care Transparency and Equity is made up of islanders who are deeply concerned that our hospital/medical clinic will be run according to Catholic doctrine that forbids specific medical procedures and medicines.  We are aware of the concerns raised by the ACLU regarding the subsidy agreement with PeaceHealth, and because the issues raised are so serious, we respectfully ask that you ask the Washington State AG for an official opinion as to the legal validity of the contract.  Our longer term goal is to ensure that islanders have access to quality health care while making sure patient and taxpayer rights are respected.

Respectfully,
